So who are we? What do we do? What is our purpose in life?

Well, the answers to the first two questions are easy – we’ll leave that last one for you to figure out. This is a blog written by two high school students attending the Marianapolis Preparatory School in Thompson, Connecticut. This blog was created for the school’s Food Blogging course, which is part of the LEAP Week program. Throughout the week of March 6-10, 2017 we investigated a number of local restaurants and went searching for those foods that maybe you don’t get a chance to try too often, or are unique to one location.

Both of the authors of this blog have some interesting perspectives to share and you’ll see that in the posts. For example, one of the authors, @thingswithf, tends to focus more on foods that are high in carbohydrates such as pasta and potatoes. Oh potatoes!! @thingswithf could literally live off of potatoes (and sort of does already). The other author, @hungrystudiousperson, is more focused on foods according to their style (such as Italian-style foods like pizza); @hungrystudiousperson prefers good-old American style cuisine (hamburgers) over anything else.

What is LEAP Week?

LEAP Week is a one-week mini-term during which groups of students and faculty explore a specific topic, project, or adventure. Course offerings focus on the arts, community service, cultural immersion, personal challenges, and core areas of study. LEAP Week celebrates a young adult’s opportunity to develop a passion and explore opportunities outside of a traditional classroom. Learn more >>
